New London Hospital Administrator Earns Health Care Quality Credential
New London — Lori Underwood, senior director of quality improvement and projects at New London Hospital, recently earned the Professional in Healthcare Quality certification. The certification addresses a variety of health care topics, including quality management and improvement, risk management, and care and disease management. To earn the certification, Underwood successfully completed an examination covering regulatory compliance, accreditation and licensure, program development, and management and quality improvement concepts. Underwood, a New London resident, joined the hospital in 2005 as senior director of planning and projects. She took on her current role in 2010.
Brownsville Resident Named
Employee of the Month at MAH
Windsor — Emily Miller, of Brownsville, has been named employee of the month for May at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center.
Miller, a registered nurse in the Acute Medical-Surgical Unit, works as a staff nurse and charge nurse.
She is also a “super user” for hospital’s electronic health record system. Working with patients and their families, Miller assesses patients’ physical, spiritual and psychological needs and plans their care.
In a news release last week, hospital CEO Kevin W. Donovan said Miller is known for her skill, attitude and positive energy.
