VTC to Celebrate MLK Day With Community Service
Randolph — Vermont Technical College will celebrate the accomplishments of Martin Luther King Jr. tomorrow by taking part in community service projects and hosting on-campus events. The public is invited to attend the free programs.
The service projects include preparing meals and offering tutoring and companionship for residents at the Veterans Place in Northfield, Vt. Those interested should sign up at 9 a.m. in the college’s Hartness Library.
The college will also create a “wall of dreams” in the library as a reminder of King’s contributions to social justice issues, starting at 9 a.m. A video of King’s I Have a Dream speech will be shown throughout the day.
President Obama’s inauguration ceremony will be telecast at noon in the Campus Center.
