Wedding: Youmans — Kidder

New London — Katherine L. Youmans and Andrew J. Kidder III were married on Oct. 13, 2012.
The wedding and reception were held at the Pavilions at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, N.C. The ceremony was presided over by the bridegroom’s father, who is a justice of the peace. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Megan Youmans, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Carly Denning, Meggan Dunne, Jessica Gierut, Laura Koontz and Jessica Locke. Junior bridesmaids were Devyn and Danielle Youmans, cousins of the bride.
Stowell T. Kidder, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Scott Nichols, Peter Ryan, Heath Brewer, Jon Walsh and Ben Gimpert.
The bride is the daughter of Linda and James Youmans, of Raleigh. She graduated from Millbrook High School in Raleigh in 2000 and earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and microbiology from North Carolina State University in 2004. She received a doctorate in anatomy and cell biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011 and is employed as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacology at Boston University Medical Center.
The bridegroom is the son of Janet and David Kidder, of New London. He graduated from Brooks School in Andover, Mass., in 1996. He attended College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., and earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004. He is a business analyst.
The couple plan a honeymoon to the Galapagos Islands in April. They make their home in Brookline, Mass.
