High Horses Volunteer, Quarter Horse Honored
Norwich — A volunteer and a horse with High Horses Therapeutic Riding Program were recently honored for their work.
Becky Foulk was named Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International’s volunteer of the year for Region 1, which includes New England and five Canadian providences.
Foulk, who lives in South Royalton, is past president of the High Horses board.
Mitch, a 22-year old American Quarter Horse, was named horse of the year for Region 1. Mitch has been with the High Horses program since 2007.
Foulk and Mitch are finalists the organization’s 2014 national awards, which will be announced this fall.
The awards honor Foulk and Mitch’s commitment, years of service and dedication to the riding program, High Horses said in a recent news release. — Staff report
