Douglas S. Johnson
Enfield, N.H. — Douglas S. Johnson, 76, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He was born on May 4, 1937, in Windham, N.H., son of Douglas S. and Ruth (Phillips) Johnson, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Johnson of Enfield; and son, Paul D. Johnson of Canaan; three brothers, David G. Johnson, Dennis P. Johnson, both of Canaan, Donald B. Johnson of Lebanon; and sister, Shirley (Johnson) Galpin of Tucson, Ariz.
He was predeceased by his son, Richard P. Johnson in 1973.
Douglas was a long-time resident of the Upper Valley and he also lived in Palm Bay, Fla. for 20 years. He served in the Army and worked as a materials manager for Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon for 22 years and then at Harris Corporation in Palm Bay for 10 years. He enjoyed boating, camping, computers, photography, reading and travel. Per his request, there are no calling hours or public funeral service. A private interment for family only will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Enfield at a later date.
Friends and family are invited to attend a gathering in memory of his life on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Enfield Community Center on Route 4 in Enfield from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
