David C. Blanchard
Hartford, Vt. — David C. Blanchard, 56, of Hartford, died Sunday evening, Nov. 24, 2013, at Rutland Health Care and Rehab in Rutland.
He was born in Portsmouth, Va.; the son of Charles G. and Alyce (Payne) Blanchard. He served in the U.S. Marines Corp, and lived most of his life in Vermont. He had worked as a prep cook at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, and attended Praise Chapel in Hartford. He most enjoyed socializing with his friends.
Survivors include his sister, Marion Smith of Gloversville, N.Y.; brothers, Paul Blanchard of Fla. and Louis Gaudette of N.Y.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Valerie and brother, Edward.
A graveside memorial gathering with military honors will be held in the Spring at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. There are no calling hours.
