June Rae Mohla

Grantham, N.H. — June Rae Mohla, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity, N.H.

She was born April 5, 1925, in Wakefield, Mass., a daughter of William Edward and Rachel Eva (Phinney) Coulter. June grew up and attended school in Wakefield and was later married to Wallace Walter Koerner in Greenwood, Mass., on Feb. 4, 1945. Together they had a daughter, Shirlee Ann Koerner, before their divorce. June was remarried on October 4, 1947, to John Francis Mohla in Hartford, Conn., with whom she had two more children, Joanne Rae Mohla and John Francis Mohla, Jr.

While living in Massachusetts, June worked in the freight office of the Boston & Maine Railroad in Boston. After moving to Grantham, N.H., where she lived for many years raising her family, she worked part time at Reney’s General Store. Later she moved, with her husband, to Walpole, N.H., and then to Gilsum, N.H. While living in the Keene area, June worked at the New Hampshire Liquor commission in Keene. After Mr. Mohla’s retirement they moved to St. Augustine, Fla., where they lived until after his death on Aug. 29, 1999. June moved to Claremont, N.H., to be nearer to her family and has been a resident at the Sullivan County Nursing Home for the past few years.

June enjoyed being active in her community, serving as the Town Treasurer in Grantham for many years; as president of the Bellows Falls Vermont Hospital Auxiliary and as a re-enactor at Historic Saint Augustine.

She was also active in the churches she attended including the Grantham Methodist Church, the Walpole Congregational Church and the Shores Methodist Church in St. Augustine. When not serving her community June was well known for making beautiful handmade quilts.

She was predeceased by her husband John Mohla, late of St. Augustine; sisters Doris Eleanor Coulter of Wakefield, Mass., Lois Rose of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ruth Armstrong of Amesbury, Mass.; as well as a great-grandson Thomas Joseph Breault of Post Mills, Vt.

She is survived by her children, Shirlee Murgatroy and husband Daniel of Unity, Joanne Pulsifer and husband Robert of Crossville, Tenn., and Jack Mohla and wife Bonnie of Wilder, Vt.; grandchildren Rebecca Tinker and husband John of Claremont, Michael Pulsifer and wife Sandra of Martinsburg, W.V., Jennifer Tessier and husband Robert of Manchester, N.H., Brian Pulsifer and wife Alisa of New Market, Md., Mark Pulsifer of Concord, N.H., Breanna Morgan and husband Clint of Norfolk, Va., and Brittney Mohla of Wilder; great-grandchildren Gage and Isaiah Murgatroy of Manchester, N.H., Cecile Breault of Wilder, Vt., Saliaha Curvan of Manchester, and Colton and Gunner Morgan of Norfolk, Va.

Committal Services will be held next Spring at the convenience of the family in Grantham, N.H.
