Letter: The Place, Not the Building

To the Editor:

Just to keep up my standing as language curmudgeon, let me point out that the subhead “Mascoma Students Create Art for Capitol Christmas” is misleading. As the Christmas tree in Jon Wolper’s story will not be in the Capitol, the building in which our national legislature meets, the word should have been “Capital,” referring to the seat of government. A correct spelling would also have enhanced the presumably intended pun.
