Letter: America Held Hostage
To the Editor:
Imagine this: A minority sect of right-wing fundamentalists infiltrates the U.S. Congress, shutting down the government and holding America hostage. Global economic damage ensues. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness suffer “collateral damage.”
Any other set of terrorists doing this much damage who were not wearing suits and ties or who had names that are hard to pronounce would have been drilled or droned by the Men in Black by now. I don’t understand. This ongoing damage dwarfs what a few punks with AK-47s can do. Yet we let it happen? Or are the suits and ties the Men in Black? This is not the country I was brought up to die for.
