Letter: Ray School Renovations

To the Editor:

As many Ray School parents and Hanover residents may have heard, our elementary school, the Bernice A. Ray School, is sorely in need of renovations. The School Board has been discussing this issue since last winter and has hired an architect and formed a building committee for a more comprehensive study of what needs to be done, the approximate costs and an anticipated timeline. Preliminary drawings, complete with associated costs and logistics, will be presented at the Oct. 16 School Board meeting, which will be held at the Ray School Music Room at 7 p.m. Our architect will be on hand to walk the board and audience through the progress made to date. Moreover, a prioritized list of needs and requests will be made available for the School Board to discuss and consider.

We cordially invite our community to join us for this very important and timely discussion regarding the facility needs of our elementary school. We welcome your input and suggestions and hope that many of you will be able to join us for this first look at how the Ray School can be appropriately upgraded and renovated for the future of our students, staff and community.
