Plainfield, N.H. — AnnaKaie Manacek Sodemann, 96, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013. She was born in Danbury, Conn., on March 20, 1917, to Elizabeth Fusek Manacek and Stephen Manacek.
AnnaKaie was educated in Danbury, and earned a Bachelors Degree from Western Connecticut College and pursued graduate studies at Columbia and Vassar.

AnnaKaie enjoyed her “Ladies Sewing Circle and Teriorist Society” meetings at which members “thought young and or old but were always free to be bold.” She was heavily interested in politics, people and puzzles. On the last day of her life she was singing with her great-grandchildren and worrying about Syria.
She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Robert Sodemann. AnnaKaie is survived by her daughters, Lynn Schad, of Cornish, N.H., and Susan Harrington, of West Lebanon, N.H.; her grandchildren, Heather Sullivan, of Lebanon, N.H., and Michael Harrington, of Plainfield; three great-grandchildren, Matt and Ben Sullivan, and Ellis Harrington.
There will be no calling hours and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. She, like her husband before her, asks that you please take care of the people you love.
