Suzanne LeClair Jordan

Chandler, Ariz. — Suzanne LeClair Jordan, 53, of Chandler, Ariz., loving mother and devoted wife, passed away peacefully from this life on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, 2013, after a valiant fight against cancer. Suzanne was born on September 16, 1959, in Keene, N.H., to parents Edward and Caroline LeClair, who both preceded her in death. Suzanne was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and Keene High School in Keene, and held administrative positions at Gifford Medical Center, Global Health Council and Catholic Charities of Arizona.

In the weeks and months before her passing she was surrounded by her loving family, friends and caregivers. Suzanne will be remembered for her biting sense of humor and her ability to take a leadership position in all conversations. Quite simply she filled a room with her presence. Suzanne had a deep seated love for travel and for experiencing new and exciting adventures, having spent time in Rome, Hawaii and Cambodia. This sense of adventure was driven by an unparalleled sense of determination, making her a highly sought source for guidance and mentorship in both her personal and professional life. Suzanne was always a person who provided inspiration to her friends and family; always available to lend advice, instruction, and humor to any situation no matter how difficult. This was never more evident than in the last year of her life where she continued to work while being a caregiver to her late husband, Steven M. Greenberg, while simultaneously battling her own terminal illness.

Suzanne loved Arizona; living there for the past seven years and meeting many wonderful new friends, who, over time, became part of her “AZ family.” Although she loved Arizona and did not miss winter, she never lost the soft spot in her heart for New England; often wishing for a Maine lobster or to see Vermont’s fall foliage.

Ms. Jordan is survived by her two children, daughter, Marisa Jordan, of Denver, Colo., son, Stephen Jordan, of Boston, Mass.; two elder siblings, brother, William LeClair, sister, Michelle Young, of Keene, and her husband Andrew Howarth; and sister-in-law, Carole Greenberg, of Chicago. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the Legacy Funeral Home in Chandler, Ariz.

The family expresses its thanks to family, friends, and Hospice of the Valley for their continued love and support.
