Letter: Help Celebrate W. Lebanon History
To the Editor:
The annual West Lebanon Alumni Day parade will take place at 11 a.m. on May 25.
This year, there has been talk of organizing a float. A small group from Facebook, known as West Lebanon Kids, has met to come up with ideas on how best to represent our town in the parade. A float may be beyond our resources. One idea is to use cardboard to make representations of storefronts along old Main Street, from businesses and offices to eateries and gas stations, from Seminary Hill to the old location of the Four Aces Diner and Mac’s Antiques. These cardboard “buildings” will be carried in the parade somehow by as many volunteers as we can get to do so.
We would love to hear from anyone interested in sharing ideas and attending a meeting or volunteering time or materials for this project. Should you be interested or need more information, contact us through Facebook in the group West Lebanon Kids or call 603-448-1497.
The next meeting will be tomorrow at the West Lebanon Congregational Church at 6:30 p.m. Please join us in our efforts to make this a fun family day for those of us with a history connected to this lovely town.
