Phoenix, Ariz. — Steve Donovan, of Phoenix, born July 7, 1954, passed away March 21, 2013, at Brighton Gardens hospice in Scottsdale, Ariz. His mother, and his loving partner of 32 years was by his side to ease his passing after his year long battle with cancer.
Steve, a Realtor in the Phoenix area, was known and loved by all for his positive, caring personality and his wild sense of humor. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Donovan. He is survived by his loving partner of 32 years, Gene Roberts also of Phoenix and their two dogs, Kita and Henry; his mother, Lorraine of Ossipee, N.H.; sister, Lorraine of Norfolk, Va.; brother, Tim of Conway, N.H.; and niece and nephews, Kelley, Sean, Tom, and Joe Donovan, and countless friends.
Steve taught us all to use humor and a positive outlook to live the best possible life. He lived by the phrase, “don’t sweat the small stuff - and it’s all small stuff.” Steve always had a smile, or words of encouragement and support for his friends, family and colleagues at Realty Executives. He radiated positive energy, and left an indelible, bright mark on the lives of all he met. He lived his life to fullest, visiting beautiful places, spending time with friends and family and working at a job he loved. His last advice to his family was, “live a good life.”
His friends and colleagues held a tribute and celebration of life at Rosie McCaffrey’s on April 3, 2013.
