Bradford, Vt. — Esther French, 93, of Bradford, Vt, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Grace Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H.
Esther was born on April 29, 1919, in Vershire, Vt, the daughter of Thomas and Mildred Ricker.
She was a factory worker, working many years at the Veneer Mill in Bradford.
Esther married Clifford French on September 9, 1973. They lived in Bennington, Vt before moving to their home in Bradford.
She shared the love of antique cars with her husband, Cliff, going to antique car shows and driving her antique car in local parades. Esther enjoyed eating meals with friends and family at the Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cribbage every Wednesday evening from September to March, and enjoyed working at the Mustard Seed in Newbury, Vt until her recent hospitalization. In her former years, she had memorable times camping and snowmobiling. Esther loved her cats, Willie and Charlie, and loved spending time at family gatherings.
Esther is predeceased by her husband, Cliff, her daughter, Joyce, and her sister, Mildred. She is survived by her son, Ervin Londry and wife, Molly, of Nashua, N.H.; a sister, Verna Carter and husband, Ned; brothers, Bernard and wife Edith; Mahlon and wife Junis, and Jason and wife Ginny, along with seven grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at the Newbury Congregational Church in Newbury, Vt on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2:30 pm. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held for family only at the Sawyer Cemetery in Bradford, Vt.
