Mary Lu (Mohn) Randall
Cumberland, R.I.— Mary Lu (Mohn) Randall, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her three daughters, Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Born in Reading, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Willard H. and Susannah (Lechleitner) Mohn, and sister to the late David Mohn.
True to family tradition, Mary Lu had a vivid imagination and adored the stage. She graduated from Reading High School in 1946 and earned her B.A. from Montclair State Teachers College in 1950.
In 1952, her spirit of adventure took her to Saudi Arabia, where she was a teacher for ARAMCO, and met the love of her life, the late Donald W. Randall.
In 1975, a new chapter began when the couple and their three daughters moved from Westport, Conn. to Athens, Greece. There, Don and Mary Lu rediscovered each other and their love of travel. After eight years in Washington, D.C. the couple retired to Brownsville, Vt. where Mary Lu’s love of animals and the outdoors was more than fulfilled. After the death of her husband in 2006, Mary Lu moved to Cumberland to be closer to her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan M. Randall of Copenhagen, Denmark, Lynne S. Randall Malone of New York City, and Rebecca W. Randall Nakshian of Cumberland, R.I. She also leaves three grandchildren, Sebastian, Jacob and Rachel.
The funeral and burial will be private.
