Frances Marie Corcoran
White River Junction, Vt. — Frances M. Corcoran beloved Mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, 65, of White River Junction, Vt. passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. She was surrounded by her children Adam Corcoran and Michele Gaskell.
On January 13th, 1948, Frances was born in Hartford, Conn. to Anthony and Pauline (Vona) Concatelli. Frances went to South Catholic High School and graduated in 1966. Upon graduation she attended The Hartford Academy of Hair Dressing. Frances married Michael A Corcoran of Bennington, Vt. on May 2, 1970 and moved to Vermont. They had two children Michele and Adam. The family lived in Waterbury, Hartland and West Fairlee, Vt. Frances and Michael were active in the DAV and Auxiliary as well as many Veteran causes.
In the early 1980’s she was the hair dresser at Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder, Vt. In 1985 she changed careers and for 21 years she worked for Mark Klampert DDS and Dr Schramm DDS as an dental assistant. In her spare time she drove local singer Gloria Johnson to her singing engagements and spent a lot of time with her and the singing group The High Rollers at Lake Morey Country Club. Upon retirement she loved spending time with her four grandchildren and her family. Frannie loved to go to the shore any chance she got.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Michael A. Corcoran in 1994; her brothers Mark Concatelli and Anthony Concatelli Jr, and her father Anthony Concatelli Sr., all whom lived in Connecticut. She leaves her loving mother Pauline (Vona) Concatelli and sister Theresa Concatelli of Hartford, Conn.; her daughter Michele Gaskell and Son-in-Law Michael of Groton, Vt. ; son Adam Joseph Corcoran and Daughter-in-Law Julie Corcoran of Post Mills, Vt.; four grandchildren Kaitlyn Corcoran, Cody Corcoran, Quinn Corcoran and Logan Gaskell and countless nieces and nephews.
The celebration of Frances’ life will be held at Knight’s Funeral home in Wilder, Vt., on Wednesday March 27th between the hours of 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Calling hours will be between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a simple service starting at 3 p.m.. Please join us afterwards for a reception at the Hotel Coolidge on South Main Street in downtown White River Junction. A light meal and desserts will be served. A memorial service for Frances will be held in Hartford, Conn., at a future date.
