Gary James Lapine
Newport, N.H. — Gary James Lapine, 61, of Columbus Circle in Newport died on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
He was born in Claremont, N.H. on Jan. 5, 1952, the son of Henry Lewis and Cecile (White) Lapine.
He was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1970.
Gary worked for Homestead Industries formally Dartmouth Woolen Mill for over 30 years.
He liked playing softball, bowling, cards with friends, watching sports, cooking and going to fairs and fair foods. He also enjoyed his peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches.
His eyes would light up when his grandchildren were around.
The family includes his son, Mathew Lapine of Nashua; his daughter, Bethany Lapine-Owens of Claremont; four grandchildren, Alexis Lapine, Damon Roy, Robert and Henry Owens; his ex-wife, Penny Koch also several nieces, nephews and cousins along with a close cousin, Hank Tenney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward “Eddy” White.
Friends and family are asked to call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Sunday, March 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 4 p.m. with Father Stanley Piwowar officiating.
Burial will be held at the St. Francis Cemetery in Windsor, Vt. in the spring.
