Randolph Voters Approve Town, School Budgets
Randolph — Randolph voters easily approved both their town and school budgets in Australian ballot voting Tuesday.
The town’s general fund budget of roughly $2.5 million was approved 451 to 128, while the highway budget was passed by a vote of 474 to 105.
There were no contested town races this year. Tom Schersten ran unopposed for a three-year term on the Selectboard.
Voters also approved nearly $76,000 in allocations to area non-profits and social service agencies, which Randolph Town Manager Melvin Adams said would raise the tax rate by one or two cents.
Town residents also approved, 422 to 148, a $4.5 million budget for the Randolph School District for the 2013-14 fiscal year. The budget represents a $26,000 increase over the current year’s spending. L. Brooke Dingledine won uncontested three-year seats on the Randolph Elementary School board and the board of Randolph Union High School.
Anne Black Cone was unchallenged in her quest to serve the remaining two years of a three-year term on the RUHS board.
