Clayton “Jake” Stockwell

Grafton, N.H. — Clayton “Jake” Stockwell, 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, with his beloved wife, Michelle, at his side. He was born in Chepachet, R.I. on Jan. 2, 1942, the son of Charles and Marion (Sweet) Stockwell.

Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing, target practice and running his hunting dogs. Going camping with family and friends and working on his old jeep also were favorite activities. Over the past couple of years, Jake and Michelle raised rabbits and he spent many hours watching their yard full of pet rabbits.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Joyce) Stockwell of Grafton; two sons, Clayton “Skipper” Stockwell of Conn. and Craig and his wife, Jenine Stockwell of R.I.: a daughter, Candice and her husband, Kevin Tomasetti of Wash.; five brothers, Dennis, David and Ralph of Conn., Vaughn of R.I. and Dean of N.H.: three sisters, Cheryl Sullivan of N.H., Marlene and Kim of R.I.; and three grandchildren, Jody of Conn., Craig, Jr. of R.I. and Shelby of Wash. His extended family includes his “Muffin” Cassie, his “Monkey Butt” Aubrey, his “Little Buddy” Samuel and his brother-in-law and right hand man, Darryl. Jake was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Janet (Babbitt) Stockwell and four brothers, Myron, Ronnie, Wendall and Wayne.

At Jake’s request, there will be no calling hours or services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
