Jane Madeja Adams

Claremont, N.H. — Jane Madeja Adams, 78, of Lonsdale Avenue, Claremont, passed away at her home suddenly, on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1934, the daughter of Joseph and Amelia (Yurek) Madeja.

Jane was a hairdresser and had owned and operated Korner Kurl for many years. After her retirement she was a cook for Kimball Union Academy, Mount Sunapee and St. Joseph Rectory, where she also did housekeeping for Father Stan.

Jane enjoyed many things in life especially time with her family, friends, and pets and being an avid sports fan.

Jane was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Virgil H. Barber #892 and for many years helped with the Jr. Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

The surviving family includes, one daughter, Crystal Adams of Claremont; former husband and still lifelong friend, Charles Adams, of Canaan; one sister, Helen Burke of Claremont; two brothers, Joe Madeja of Bennington, Robert Madeja and his wife, Sherri of Claremont; one sister-in-law, Elaine Madeja of Claremont; nieces and nephews, Jane Hamilton, Robert Burke, Anne Whipple, Curtis Madeja, David Madeja, Joe Madeja, Jayne Thedford, Marc Madeja, Robbie Madeja, Michelle Madeja; several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Stanley Madeja; two sisters, Sophie Madeja and her twin sister, Elizabeth Madeja; brother-in-law, Leo Burke; one nephew, Nathan Madeja and one great nephew, James Thedford.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
