Belle “Peg” Crowley
Sharon, Vt. — Belle “Peg” Crowley, 91, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at her grandson’s home in Claremont, N.H.
She was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Windsor, Vt. a daughter of Perry T. and Susan Mary (Gilbert) Clark. After graduating from Windsor High School, Belle worked at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Windsor until her marriage to George Crowley. Together, they made their home on Brigham Hill in Norwich for several years. They later started Sharon Beef, just across the Norwich line from Beaver Meadow, and she spent the rest of her life in that home. After the family sold Sharon Beef, Belle worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Barry in Norwich until retiring.
Belle enjoyed drawing and sketching still lifes, playing the organ and taking walks, especially through the Beaver Meadow District. She loved being with her cat, Oliver, and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Belle was predeceased by her husband, George; a son James Crowley; a sister Janetta Cummings and brothers Earl and David Magoon, Floyd Blood and Perry Clark.
She is survived by her grandson, Sean Crowley and his wife, Cristal of Claremont; her granddaughter, Erin Crowley of Lebanon, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Brady, Logan, Mason and Sierra; and a step-daughter, Sandra Prince of Seattle, Wash.
