Weathersfield, Vt. — Roderick T. Jillson, 61, of Weathersfield, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at DHMC. Private services were held Friday at the Bridgewater Congregational Church & Saturday in Bridgewater Center.

Rod was born Aug 10, 1951, in Hanover, N.H. Son of Warren & Bernice (Rambo) Jillson. He grew up in Bridgewater,Vt. with his four siblings graduating from Woodstock HS in 1969. Rod was a spectator sport enthusiast mostly for Nascar, NE Patriots & Red Sox. Rod had quick wit, and never missed an opportunity for humor. He did not worry about what others thought, but was compassionate, respectful, and was instantly liked. Rod took life as it came, not dwelling on the things he could not change or worry about the small things. He rarely asked for anything from others and never complained, even in his darkest hours. All through his life, he was most concerned for the well being of loved ones despite his own hardships. For his last eight years he has been reunited with his first wife, brought back together after 30 years by the loss of their son and his mother. Rod will be remembered for his resilience & courage giving those he left behind a testament of strength.

Rod is survived by his life partner, Cindy Earle; son, Nicholas Jillson; daughter, Stephanie Jillson; sister, Mary Stevens, sister Margaret Crane; brother, Warren Jillson.
