I-91 Temporarily Closed Monday

Vermont State Trooper Paul Feeney examines the rear truck of a vehicle that was transporting a bridge beam north from Claremont when it left I-91 in North Hartland Monday, June 16, 2014. "I heard the boom and the noise and the shaking, so I looked out and saw the leaves coming down," said Helen Colgan who lives about 50 yards from where what was described to her as a 40 ton beam came to rest after knocking down a tree. "I had often thought of that before - I hope no one has an accident near the house," she said.

The Interstate was down to a single lane for 51/2 hours and closed for 90 minutes. I-91 has been reopened.
