North Haverhill, N.H. — Marjorie Paronto, 86, a former long-time Woodsville resident, died on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, N.H.
Marjorie was born in Woodsville on Nov. 30, 1927, to George E. and Katherine (MacLain) Clement. She married George J. Paronto on Oct. 19, 1946.
Marge worked for 22 years as the school lunch cook at the Woodsville Elementary School, Woodsville High School, and the Haverhill Academy. She then served as the Matron at the former Home for the Aged of Grafton County on Maple Street in Woodsville for over 12 years. Marge was also active in the community, especially as a member of the Trinity Church of the Nazarene in North Haverhill. Along with her husband, George, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren as they participated in professional sports.
Marge was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, George J. Paronto on Aug. 24, 2007; two sisters, Helen M. Clement and Fay Phair; and a son-in-law, Ronald Pike.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol A. Pike of Lincolnton, N.C.; four sons, David G. Paronto also of Lincolnton, Dale Paronto and companion, Patricia Thayer of Woodsville, Dana Paronto and wife, Brenda of North Haverhill, and Denis Paronto and wife, Judy of Warwick, R.I.; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; an aunt, Ethel Fullerton of Woodsville; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be on Wednesday, June 4, at 3 p.m. at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 41 Nazarene Drive, North Haverhill with Rev. George Hemway, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Swiftwater Road, Woodsville.
