Mary Ellen Bellimer

Unity, N.H. — Mary Ellen Bellimer, 68, of Quaker City Road in Unity, died unexpectedly on Thursday morning Feb. 6, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Wilmington, Del. on Dec. 2, 1945, the daughter of the late James and Edith (Kelly) Peters.

Mary Ellen was a 1963 graduate of Newark High School in Newark, Del. and had received an Associates Degree at Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim.

She was a veteran of Vietnam having served in the US Navy. Mary Ellen had worked at For-Sight Optical and Dr. W. Carpenter, OD.

She was very proud of her volunteer work in Unity where she had held several positions including, Trustee of the Trust Funds, Ballot Clerk, Unity School Board for eleven years most of those years as chairman and Served as Chairman for SAU#6 School Board for one year, was a director and librarian for Unity for 14 years.

Mary Ellen was a member of the Unity Historical Society, the American Legion Post#22 of Lebanon for 20 years and a Charter member of the Woman in Military Service to America.

She especially loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.

The family includes her husband, Frederick J. Bellimer of Unity; two sons, Rick Bellimer of Claremont and David Bellimer and his companion, Jill Cenate of Bellows Falls, Vt.; three grandchildren, Sydney Rose Bellimer of Claremont, Lucas James Bellimer of Claremont and Sebastian Bellimer of Bellows Falls; two brothers, John Peters of Newark, Del. and Jim Peters of Willmington, Del.; one sister, Carletta Martinsen of Milwaukee, Wis.

A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge #1201, 209 Broad Street, Claremont, N.H. on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Sturge-Weber Foundation, PO Box 418, Mt. Freedom, NJ 07970-0418.
