Betty L. Yukica
Grantham, N.H. — Betty L. Yukica passed away peacefully at home in Grantham on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at the age of 75.
Betty is survived by her husband, Joe of 54 years; her three sons; and four grandchildren.
Betty was born Oct. 9 1938, in Pueblo, Colo. (Betty Lee Rine) to parents Jackson and Emily Rine. Betty grew up in Harrisburg, Pa. and graduated from John Harris High School in 1957. She was the Head Majorette and also voted Home Coming Queen in her senior year. She married Joseph M. Yukica of Midland, Pa. on Dec. 26, 1959. Together they had three sons, Joseph Jr, James, Jackson, and four grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Isaac, and Oliver. She also leaves behind a sister, Sharon of Santa Rosa, Calif., and a niece, Patty McEvoy.
Before becoming a mother, Betty worked as an Administrative Assistant in Harrisburg, a fashion model, and was featured in Ski Magazine. Later in her professional career she was a Manager with Board & Basket, and a full-time realtor with Lang McLaughry Associates.
