Wesley Paul Faust

Sunapee, N.H. — Wesley Paul Faust, 81, passed away at New London Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, after a short illness. He leaves behind his soul mate of over 30 years, Charlotte Carlson of Sunapee.

Wesley was born on Jan. 21, 1932, in Springfield, Mass. He graduated from Technical High School and attended Springfield College. He was a longtime resident of Springfield and had made Sunapee his primary home since his retirement, also enjoying summers on Peaks Island in Maine.

Wesley was a quality control engineer, manager, and auditor, working for several companies including American Bosch, Rockwell International, GTE, and Intertek. He traveled extensively in the United States and abroad for his work. Wesley enjoyed cooking, reading, cars, skiing, boating, and his friends. He was captain of his Boston Whaler, “Osprey”, motoring on the Connecticut River, Lake Sunapee, and Casco Bay. He was best man at more than one wedding, was an avid bird watcher and mushroom hunter, enjoyed photography, doing crossword puzzles, fishing, and listening to bluegrass and banjo music. Wesley served as President of the Montshire Mycological Club for over 20 years and volunteered for NEHSA at Mt. Sunapee.

Wesley is predeceased by his brothers, Sheldon and Richard Faust and his sister, Mary (Faust) Cullen. He is survived by his beloved Charlotte Carlson and her family, Annie, Rich, Rebecca and Ben Potash of Duxbury, Mass. and Bill, Kathleen, and Eric Carlson of Southwick, Mass.; a brother, Henry Faust of Windsor Locks, Conn.; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Thank you to the Sunapee EMTs and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at both DHMC and New London Hospital for all their efforts to help Wes. Special thanks to family and friends for their care and support.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 10 from 4 p.m. 6 p.m. at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main St., New London, NH. Burial will be held at Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wesley’s name to the New England Handicapped Sports Association (NEHSA), PO Box 2135, Newbury, NH 03255.
