Official Rules The Valley News "We've Got You Covered" Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes")No Purchase or Obligation Necessary. Non-Purchase Entries and Purchase Entries have an Equal Chance of Winning.1. Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to residents of New Hampshire and Vermont. Sweepstakes entrants must also be legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Newspapers of New Hampshire, Inc. / The Valley News ("Sponsor"), and its parent company and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same households, whether related or not, are ineligible. Void where prohibited by law. Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. By participating, entrants agree to these official rules and accept the decisions of the Sponsor as final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes.2. To Enter: There is at least one prize to be won from among all eligible entries received between Saturday, June 5, 2010 and Friday, June 11, 2010 (the "Promotional Period"). The Prize drawing will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. There are two (2) ways to enter: [1] By using newspaper entry form. Fill in the official entry form published Saturday through Friday in The Valley News and mail the entry form in an envelope to The Valley News, PO Box 877, White River Jct., Vt., 05001, or drop it off by hand at our office at 24 Interchange Drive, West Lebanon, N.H. All entries for that week, whether by hand or by mail, must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday to be eligible for the following Monday drawing. Mechanically reproduced entries will not be accepted. Incorrect, inaccurate and incomplete entries are void. [2] To enter without making a purchase, Come into the office of The Valley News, 24 Interchange Drive, West Lebanon, N.H., from Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and pick up an official entry form for that week's drawing. Mechanically reproduced entries will not be accepted. Incorrect, inaccurate and incomplete entries are void. 3. Prize Drawing Details: Each week during the Promotion Period a winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries. The drawing will be conducted by the Sponsor, whose decisions are final in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. The actual odds of winning will depend upon the total number of actual eligible entries received and on the number of prizes offered. At least a minimum of one prize will be offered each week during the Promotion Period. 4. Prize Notification: Each drawing winner will be notified by mail or phone, and their name and town of residence will be published in The Valley News. If the Sponsor desires, the winners may be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where legal, a Publicity Release and IRS form W-9, all of which must be returned within 14 days of prize notification or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. If the Sponsor is not able to contact a prize winner for any reason, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. All entrants consent to the use of their name and hometown to be published in advertising for promotional purposes for this and similar promotions, including newspaper and online announcements worldwide and in perpetuity in any media, now known and hereafter devised (including and without limitation, the Internet) without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Upon request, each winner will provide consent to such in writing. 5. Prizes: At least one prize with an Approximate Retail Value of $250.00 will be awarded at the conclusion of the Promotion Period. Total Approximate Retail Value of all prizes awarded during Promotion Period: approximately $250.00. Prizes subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award a prize of greater or equal value or from another business if a gift certificate from the business appearing on the Contest Page is unavailable. No substitutions or transfers of prize permitted, except at Sponsor's sole discretion. 6. Use of Entries: Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. In addition, after the drawing, entries may be forwarded to the businesses featured on the Contest Page, and such businesses may contact you. 7. General Conditions: By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants release, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent company and its subsidiaries and affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and all their affiliates, subsidiaries and their respective agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders and employees (collectively, "Releasees") from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions or any liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, use, misuse or nonuse of the prize (including any travel or travel related activity thereto) that may be awarded. Releasees are not responsible for computer, technical, printing, typographical, human or other errors, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes, the announcement of the prizes, the processing of entries or in any Sweepstakes related materials; for transactions or entries that are lost, stolen, late, misdirected, undelivered, delayed, garbled, damaged, incomplete, illegible or postage due mail; for transactions or entries that fail to enter into the processing system, or are reported or transmitted late or incorrectly or are lost for any reason including computer, telephone, paper transfer, human or other error. If in the Sponsor's or judges' opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if computer virus, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical difficulties or failures compromise or corrupt or affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, the Sponsor and judges reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and or void any entries submitted fraudulently, to modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, or to terminate the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to award the prize using all eligible non-suspect transactions and write-in entries received as of the termination date. As a condition of entering the Sweepstakes, participant, agrees that: a.) under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; b.) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or the prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and c.) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event shall attorneys fees be recoverable. Sponsor reserves the right to modify prize award procedures. These official rules shall be interpreted exclusively in accordance with New Hampshire law, and any cause of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or the prizes awarded, shall be heard and resolved in either the federal or state courts located in Haverhill, New Hampshire, or Concord, New Hampshire. If any provision of these official rules shall be held invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, that holding shall not invalidate or render unenforceable any other provision hereof. 7. Who Won?: For the name of the winner, send your request, noting the date of the Sweepstakes weekly prize drawing, with a self-addressed, stamped envelope (Vermont residents may omit postage) to: The Valley News, PO Box 877, White River Jct., Vt., 05001, Sweepstakes Winner, "We've Got You Covered" Sweepstakes.
