Thetford Bus Routes
Afternoon bus routes follow the same route leaving from the elementary school at approximately 3:10 p.m.
Please remember that it takes a few weeks in the fall for the bus schedules to settle into a routine. (And then it snows!)
Route 1
Thetford Academy Morning Run: 6:25, depart Thetford Academy, right onto Route 113; 6:30, left onto Route 5 North to turnaround on Route 244; 6:40, south on Route 5, right onto Latham Road (6:46) to Route 113; 6:51, right onto Route 113, cross interstate bridges; 6:52, left onto Godfrey Road to Deer Run Lane turnaround (6:56); 6:58, right onto Old Stone Road, right onto Quail John Road, right onto Stevens Road; 7:10, Stevens Road left onto Route 5 North; 7:14, left onto Route 113 to left onto Academy Road to Thetford Academy (7:20).
Thetford Elementary Morning Run: (picks up students on 113, Route 5, Latham, Schoolhouse, Trailer Park, Godfrey, Old Stone, Quail John, Stevens Roads): 7:30, start at Wing's Market, north on Route 5 to Route 244 and turn around (7:40); south on Route 5 to Latham Road, Latham Road to Schoolhouse Hill Road to Trailer Park Road (7:50); back to Latham Road, Latham Road to Route 113 to Godfrey Road, Godfrey Road to turnaround at Deer Run Lane (8:00); Godfrey Road back to Old Stone Road to Quail John Road to Stevens Road to Route 5 (8:10); Route 5 North to Route 113 (8:10); Route 113 to Thetford Elementary (8:20).
Afternoon Run: reverse of Morning route.
Note: This bus route will be reversed at half year, January 20, 2009.
Route 2 — Post Mills
Thetford Academy Morning Run: depart Thetford Academy, turn left onto Route 113; 6:45, start on Sawnee Bean Road; 6:50, right turn onto Barker Road; 7, left turn on Route 113, past Baker's Store to right onto Cross Street; 7:05, right turn onto Cross Street; 7:08, right turn onto Route 244; 7:09, left turn at Post Mills Airport -- pick up at Hanger Bay Road, turn around at Lake Shore Road and go back to Route 244; 7:12, left turn onto Route 113, proceed back to Thetford Hill; 7:17, right turn onto Academy Road, second drive into Thetford Academy, drop off in front of Anderson Hall.
Thetford Elementary Morning Run (picks up students on Sawnee Bean, Barker Road, Route 113, Cross Road, Route 244, and Robinson Hill Road to Lakeshore Drive): leave Thetford Center and go west on Route 113 to Sawnee Bean Road (7:40); right on Barker Road, left on Route 113 (7:50); proceed west on Route 113 to Cross Road (7:56); east on Cross Road to 244 (8:01); then west on 244 to Robinson Hill Road; proceed along Robinson Hill Road and turn around at Lake Shore Drive (8:05); return via Robinson Hill Road to Route 244; Route 244 to Route 113 (8:10); proceed east on Route 113 to Thetford Elementary (8:20).
Afternoon Run: reversal of the Morning route.
Route 3
Thetford Academy Morning Run: 6:30, depart Thetford Academy; 6:33, left turn onto Route 113, take left onto Tucker Hill Road (6:45); 6:45, left turn on Route 132, turn right onto Gove hill Road (6:55); 7:05, right turn onto New Boston Road to South Strafford Village, right onto Route 132; 7:10, South Strafford Gymnasium (Red Barn), back through Union Village (7:15); 7:20, drop off at Thetford Academy.
Thetford Elementary Morning Run (picks up students on Tucker Hill Road, Gove Hill, New Boston Road, Route 132, Union Village and Academy Road): start at Tucker Hill Road (7:40); go to Route 132 and turns right on Route 132 (7:43); proceed up Route 132 to Tyson Road (7:50) and take Tyson Road to New Boston Road, New Boston Road to Gove Hill Road (7:53). Down Gove Hill Road to Route 132 (7:58); right onto Route 132 to Patsy Lane (8:05); through Union Village (8:10); to Thetford Elementary School (8:16).
Afternoon Run: reversal of the Morning route.
Corinth to Thetford Academy
Morning Run: 6:30, 414 Center Road; 6:45, East Corinth General Store, Pike Hill Road, Taplin Hill Road/Brook Road; 6:55, Brook Road/Chelsea Road; 7, Chelsea Road/Eagle Hollow Road.
Riverbend
Morning Run: 7:30 or first bell, depart Thetford Academy for Riverbend -- arrive 8; 10:40, depart Riverbend for Thetford Academy -- arrive 11:10; 11:15, depart Thetford Academy for Riverbend -- arrive 11:45; 2:30, depart Riverbend for Thetford Academy – arrive 3; 3, to Corinth, drop off in reverse order.
