The Risks of Treating Lake Morey
On May 5, Fairlee's voters will decide whether a chemical herbicide should be applied to Lake Morey, a 538-acre state lake infested with 45 acres of milfoil, an invasive plant. It's not clear to me that the chemical treatment, proposed for the next five years, is worth the risk to the lake's other plant and animal species or that the public would benefit. See full story
