PLACES OF INTEREST

The Sarah Drew Hiking Trail on Patterson Mountain was donated to the town by Sarah Drew for public hiking. The hike takes approximately one hour, and the trailhead is located in Vershire Center.
The Cross Rivendell Trail is being created to connect the four towns sending students to the Rivendell Interstate School District.
The Vershire Town Center was originally built as a Methodist church circa 1870. The Advent Christian Society purchased the building from the Methodist church in 1912 and moved it from Copperfield (also known as the Ely Copper Mines area) to South Vershire. In 1973, the historical society purchased the building, and in 1978 the building was moved again - about four miles, to Vershire Village on Route 113 - and at that time was given to the town for use as the town hall, for town meetings, elections and other town functions.
The Church-Orr House, once a stagecoach stop between Boston and Montreal, now houses a library, a made-in-Vershire shop, and community programs.
