PLACES OF INTEREST

Waits River, flowing through the northeastern part of the town, falls a distance of 100 feet in a few areas. The Mill Brook, which runs into the south branch of the Waits River in West Corinth, is one of the town's most historic and scenic natural areas. It was viewed by the earliest local settlers as an ideal source of water power.
The Corinth Academy Building in Cookeville, built in 1846, was a private coeducational institution, educating students from as far away as Detroit. The building eventually became part of the town school system, was used as the town hall, and is currently being restored by the Corinth Historical Society. The academy building was eventually replaced as a town hall by the current Corinth Town Hall.
The Meadow Meeting House, a historic building on Goose Green-Chelsea Road, was once used as the Second Free Will Baptist Church. There is no formal minister, but weddings and other events take place in the building.
The Northeast Slopes ski area on Route 25, about three miles from the center of East Corinth, still operates as the second oldest rope tow ski area in the country. The ski area was built in the 1930s and still operates.
