PLACES OF INTEREST

The Fort at No. 4:A living history museum of the 1740s and 1750s located on 20 acres overlooking the Connecticut River. The fort re-creates life along New Hampshire’s western frontier. Visitors to the fort can see a working blacksmith shop and two 18th century barns. For information call 826-5700.
St. Catherine of Siena, Main Street. The church is notable for four signed Tiffany stained-glass windows.
A booklet titled Historic Charlestown Walkabout offers a detailed guide and brief historical summary of the 63 structures downtown. It is available for sale at the town clerk’s office, which is located at the corner of Main and Railroad streets.
