Places of Interest

Quechee Gorge offers panoramas, hiking, camping, dining and shopping opportunities.

In the village of Quechee, visitors cross the Ottauquechee River on a covered bridge just downstream from the working glassblowers in the Simon Pearce glass and pottery factory, and not far from the green that hosts an annual balloon festival.

Downtown White River Junction, still served by an Amtrak passenger train, offers an opportunity to reflect on that village's glory days as a railroad center and inspect a vintage steam locomotive, Old 494, and several historic buildings.

The Wilder Dam has a salmon ladder.

The Appalachian Trail passes through West Hartford.
