Places of Interest
The Hood Museum of Art is a museum of art and culture with 50,000-60,000 objects in its permanent collection. Admission is free. It is located on the Dartmouth College campus. 646-2808
The Hopkins Center shows films; 20 theater productions a year, both professional and college; 150 musical programs a year; and five professional dance programs a year. Located on Dartmouth College campus. 646-2422.
The Appalachian Trail passes through town and the Dartmouth Outing Club maintains hundreds of miles of trails and can supply maps. 646-2428. The Hanover Conservation Commission has maps for town trails available at the town offices.
Storrs Pond recreation area is owned by the Hanover Improvement Society and offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic tables and other facilities. Swimming and tennis lessons are also available during the summer months. For information call 643-2134.
