Places of Interest

The focal point of the community is the center of the village at the junction of Routes 113 and 110. The Congregational Church at the head of the North Common and the Orange County Courthouse looking down on the South Common are notable historic buildings.

Another historic building, the Chelsea Town Hall, is a red brick building, circa 1894. It currently serves as the Chelsea Public Library, the municipal offices and the town meeting hall. In 1990 the town Grange commissioned a granite veterans memorial at a cost of approximately $13,000. The memorial can be found on the lawn of Chelsea Town Hall.

The Lewis House, a historical 1½-story cape, was purchased in 1965 by the Chelsea Historical Society. The home can be found on Main Street near the fire station at the center of town.

Main Street in Chelsea has many houses that date back to the early 1800s.
