We used the most current information obtainable at the time for our Town Stats. Much of it came from the state of New Hampshire's Economic and Labor Market Information Bureau and the Center for Rural Studies, based in Burlington, Vt. The population figures came from the 2000 Census. The equalized property tax rates came from the Vermont Department of Taxes and the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration. They show how municipalities would compare if they all assessed property at full market value. Vermont rates are per $100 of assessed value. New Hampshire rates are per $1,000 of assessed value. The total equalized Vermont rates include the municipal tax rate, the statewide education tax rate, and the rate for the local share of education costs. The total New Hampshire rates include the municipal tax rate, the local school tax rate, the statewide education tax rate, and the county tax rate. Click on links below for town information. |
