PLACING AN AD

All advertisers who submit via email or fax will receive a confirmation that we have received the material prior to scheduling the advertising. Please include a phone number with your submissions where you can be reached between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you do not receive a confirmation from us, we may not have received your information.

Retail Display, Transaction or Classified Display

Please fax your ad to (603) 298-0212. Please include a phone number where we can reach you to confirm your advertisement.

To Place a Display or Transaction Ad in Person:
Bring your ad into our office at 24 Interchange Drive, West Lebanon during our office hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To Mail a Display or Transaction Ad to us:
Please mail the ad copy, your name, mailing address, billing phone number and a phone number where you may be reached Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to: Valley News Classifieds, PO Box 877, White River Jct., VT 05001.

To Email a Display or Transaction Ad to us:

GUIDELINES FOR ELECTRONIC ADVERTISING SUBMISSION
There are several options in submitting Advertising to the Valley News in an electronic format: On Disk, E-Mail or AP AdSend

Virus Protection
Disks received will be checked for computer virus. Any disk infected with a virus will be returned unopened.

Formats
We can accept art and photos in the following formats:
TIFF, EPS, JPEG, PDF, PICT

Resolution should be set at 200 dpi. All artwork must be properly linked with the file. Colors must be CMYK.

Media Accepted
100 MB & 250 MB Zip (Mac & PC), CD
The Valley News is not responsible for damaged disks or unreadable files.

For "First Time" Transmissions
Please submit your initial digital ad one week prior to the run date in case there are unforeseen problems or send us a sample ad. Full size camera ready copy should be submitted with the first ad in case there is a problem with the disk. Hard copy of ads is always welcomed in addition to electronic submission.

Scheduling
All ads should be scheduled by the appropriate deadline with our advertising department. The prepress department cannot schedule ads and will refer all inquiries to the Advertising department. Advertising copy submitted electronically should reach us by 12:00 Noon for the next days paper except for 12:00 Noon Friday for Sunday and Monday's paper.

File Size
The largest file size we can accommodate via E-mail is 10MB. Larger files should be submitted on CD, DVD or submitted via FTP. Email address: Composing@vnews.com
Please use Stuff-It when compressing files for the Macintosh; WinZip when compressing for the PC. If you do not have this software, please let us know.

File Type
The Valley News can work with the following applications:

PDF thru Acrobat 6, QuarkXPress thru 6.0, InDesign 2.0, Photoshop 7, Multi-Ad Creator
For "text only" files: File needs to be saved as plain text. Because of font and image size issues, Adobe Acrobat (PDF files) are preferred.

In-Column Ad
To Place a Classified Ad by E-mail
Send us an e-mail containing the following information:
1. Your name mailing address, billing phone number and a phone number where you may be reached Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. We cannot run an ad until we can confirm all required information with you and provide you with a cost quote for the ad, so this is very important. There is a charge for classified ads placed in the Valley News.

2. The Classification under which you'd like the ad to appear. (We reserve the right to require ads to be under the most appropriate classification.)

3. The text for your ad.

4. Scheduling information. When you'd like the ad to start and how long you'd like it to run for.
