Montpelier — Utility workers are continuing to restore power to people across Vermont after a series of powerful thunderstorms crossed the state.

Vermont Emergency Management says road crews across the state today are clearing debris from the state’s roadways and property owners are also cleaning up debris.

The storms crossed much of the state late Thursday.

WCAX-TV reports that a seasonal home on Lake Champlain’s Potash Bay in West Addison was ripped from its foundation with a woman inside. The woman, whose name was not released, is said to have suffered only minor injuries.

At midday, Vermont utilities were reporting a total of about 2,700 customers without power. The largest numbers were in Windham, Orange and Bennington counties.

The state is reminding people not to touch downed powerlines.
