Enfield house fire closes Route 4

Enfield Capt. Richard Martin closes a hydrant after firefighters from Enfield, Lebanon, Canaan, Grafton and Hanover, extinguished a fire at an unoccupied house on Route 4 in Enfield, N.H., on Tuesday. Traffic was diverted around the scene from about 4:30 a.m. until shortly after 9 a.m. Enfield Fire Chief Phil Neily said the building was secure with all windows and doors intact when emergency crews arrived. New Hampshire State Fire Marshals are investigating the cause.
