Suzanne "Sue" R. Berg

Newport Richey, Fla. — Suzanne “Sue” R. Berg, age 78, died peacefully on March 26, 2018, in her villa at Seven Springs Golf & Country Club in Newport Richey, after suffering complications from a battle with cancer. Suzanne was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Concord, N.H., the daughter of Edgar and Albertine Bourgault.

In 1964, Sue married the love of her life and surviving husband of 54 years, Richard L. Berg. Together they had two children, David and Jennifer. Sue is predeceased by her son David in August 2012. Survivors include daughter, Jennifer A. Eastman, Newport Richey; a sister, Lucette Schinella, Portland, Maine; a brother, Paul Bourgault, Concord, N.H. and two grandchildren, Nicholas A. Bergeron, Enfield, N.H., and Colby A. Shambo, Hartford, Vt. Sue was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Sue was a resident of W. Lebanon, N.H., since 1968. From 1970 to 1973 the family resided in Fairbanks, Alaska, while Richard was studying at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She was a former member of the John P. Larkin Country Club, Ladies Golf Association, and Women’s Upper Valley Bowling League. She also spent many years volunteering with Meals on Wheels of the Upper Valley. Sue enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, allowing her to experience many beautiful countries throughout the world. Some of her favorite destinations were: Australia, New Zealand, Fiji Islands, Ireland, Scotland and Russia.

Sue and family would visit Florida in the winter where she was an active member of the Seven Springs Ladies Golf Association and won numerous awards for her athleticism. She was an active social member of the country club and attended many functions with the friends she met while in Florida.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 18, at Sacred Heart Church, Lebanon, N.H. A reception will be held in the parish hall following the burial at the West Lebanon Cemetery.
