Newbury, N.H. — A male skier in his mid-40s died on Sunday after he was found off an intermediate trail at Mount Sunapee Resort.

Officials with the ski patrol “were alerted to a non-responsive adult male skier in his mid-40s off the Skyway trail at Mount Sunapee,” resort Vice President and General Manager Jay Gamble said via email. “Ski Patrol responded immediately and administered CPR to the patient.”

Gamble said the man was taken by ambulance to New London Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is under investigation. Temperatures on the mountain that day were in the mid-teens, Gamble said. “It was cold all day and windy, mostly sunny,” he said.
