Venice, Fla. — Roger Samuel Wood, 90, of Venice died Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Roger Wood, son of Roger and Katherine Wood, loving husband of Pauline Wood, peacefully passed away on March 14th in Venice.
He is survived by his wife Polly, and his son, Dr. Roderick Wood. He is also survived by two grandsons, Scott and Luke, and four stepchildren, Keith, Bonnie, Mary Ann and Peter. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Scott Wood.
Roger was born Feb. 23, 1927 in Hanover, N.H. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1945 and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. Roger then completed his Masters Degree in Business from Cornell University. Roger was a naval veteran. He was charitable of his time as a Red Cross volunteer and member of the Lion’s Club of Lebanon. He served as a state representative for the Republican Party for two terms. His career included being owner and manager of Kendrick & Davis Manufacturing Company and Director of the Bank of Lebanon.
Roger and Polly were married for 40 years and lived together in Lebanon, N.H. and Vermont before relocating to Florida. They enjoyed many friends, entertaining and traveling. He leaves behind many memories of an active life they had together. Roger was an avid golfer. He was generous and kind with a wry sense of humor. His wife and others remember him saying in reflection of his full life; “No Regrets”. He will be fondly remembered and missed. He will be laid to rest in the Wood family plot in Glenwood Cemetery in Lebanon, N.H.
