Houde, Button Win School Board Seats in Plainfield

Plainfield — Beth Houde and Michael Button won three-year terms on the School Board, and Rob Taylor won another three-year term on the Selectboard in uncontested elections Tuesday.

Residents in ballot voting also approved minor amendments to the zoning ordinance related to accessory-dwelling units, also known as mother-in-law apartments.

On Saturday, at the floor portion of Town Meeting, residents will take up the question of merging the two independent fire departments in Meriden and Plainfield into a single town department.

At the annual School Meeting on Saturday, residents approved a $6.8 million school budget for the 2018-19 school year.
