Missoula, Mont. — Otto VonGrey, 45, died unexpectedly in his home Aug. 18, 2017 in Missoula, Mont.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1972 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Otto lived in Claremont and later moved to Vergennes where he joined a work program to continue his high school education..

He lived in Burlington, Vt., Colchester, Vt. and in South Hero, Vt. before he moved to Bozeman Mon. and later settled in Missoula, Mont. where he worked at Spectrum Aquatics as a supervisor in shipping.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, listening to his favorite RR music, playing his guitar, writing songs and going to concerts. He also played in local bands.

Those who knew him described him as very honest, hard working, funny, caring and he had a love for dogs.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Frederick & Maureen of N.Y. He is survived by his mother Arlene (Higgins) Staples, her husband John of Hartland, Vt., stepsister Robynn Staples of Hartland, Vt., his childhood friend whom he considered a brother Ian Tolliver of Claremont, N.H., Uncles; Peter Higgins of Pa., Michael Steup of N.Y., John Steup of Ore., Dan Overton of N.Y., his aunts; Eileen Hayes of Mo., Lorraine Coleman of N.Y., Lori Nitchals of Wash, and many cousins and his best friends Ian Lindsay and Haddie Rumpel of Mont.

There will be no funeral services. A private gathering will be held at a later date.
