NEW LONDON — Due to this week’s rain, a paving and striping project at the New London Park and Ride at Exit 12 off I-89 has been delayed until next week, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

The park and ride, located just off I-89 at the intersection of NH Route 11 and NH Route 103A, is now slated to closed beginning Monday evening. It is expected to reopen on Thursday morning, May 11, at 4 a.m.

During the closure, all vehicles must be out of the parking lot. Those left in the lot will be towed. Dartmouth Coach service to and from New London also will be suspended during the closure, according to the company’s website.

The closure is aimed at allowing construction crews to repave the existing lot and connect it to 50 new parking spaces. F.L. Merrill Construction of Loudon, N.H., is the general contractor for the project, which has a price tag of $648,000 and is expected to be completed by the end of August.
