Panera Staffer Charged With Theft

Monday, February 26, 2018

West Lebanon — A former employee at Panera Bread has been indicted on a felony theft charge.

Sean A. Moote, of Lebanon, is accused of stealing roughly $11,000 from Panera Bread’s West Lebanon location.

Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello said his department received a report from a district manager in August 2016 about an alleged theft from the company.

Following a lengthy investigation, officers concluded that Moote was the suspect based on a “pattern of behavior.”

There is no affidavit filed in the case, so details are limited.

The 41-year-old Moote hasn’t yet appeared in court. His arraignment is scheduled for March 12 in Grafton County Superior Court.

Court documents don’t indicate whether Moote has an attorney. Attempts to reach Moote himself were unsuccessful.

A message left at the public information department at Panera Bread wasn’t immediately returned.

If convicted, Moote could face up to 15 years in prison and fines.
