Lyle E. Bellimer

Bridgewater, Vt. — Lyle E. Bellimer, 84, died Thursday Feb. 15 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon N.H.

He was born at home in Woodstock on Jan. 8, 1934 the son of George Charles and Anna May (Merriam) Bellimer.

Lyle went to work at a young age to help support his family and held that strong work ethic his entire life. He was a valued employee for a great number of locally know businesses; Tip Top Bakery, Astro Bowl, the Ludlow, Claremont, and Bridgewater Woolen Mills (moving up to foreman of the spinning room), the Ottuaquechee Health Center, the Lewis Book Bindery, Baybutt Construction Co., The Bell Ringer Restaurant, Leonard’s Gas and Electric, and finally for A.L. Bellimer Services, Inc. At all of his places of work he enjoyed great success and was a well-loved coworker. Lyle also developed strong skills and could repair and rebuild machinery better than most.

Lyle married Ilene on Aug. 2, 1952 and enjoyed building a family with her as well as helping her with her many business ventures including an amazing Tupperware business. Lyle enjoyed family trips to Old Orchard Beach, camping at Coolidge State Park, Days spent at lake Bomeseen , and spending time at the White Birches Lento as he and family hunted together. Lyle was and avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by 1 son Audie L. Bellimer of Bridgewater Center, Vt., 3 daughters Deborah B. Ulle of Blooming Glen, Pa., Pamela B. Burnett, West Woodstock, Vt., Colleen J. Bivins of Newport, Vt., 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Lyle was predeceased by his wife Ilene Sept. 20, 2004, 3 brothers Arnold, Lawrence, and Cleo and a sister Shirley.

A graveside service is being planned for a later date. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the charity of their choice.
