GIRLS BASKETBALL

Mascoma 40, Conant 30

Key players: Mascoma — Leah Larocque, Emily Seiler, Kylie Rogers

Highlights: The 11th-seeded Royals opened the NHIAA Division III tournament with an upset of the sixth-seeded Orioles. Rogers had a strong first quarter for Mascoma with eight points. Seiler had a strong second quarter with seven points. Mascoma bigs Larocque, Gabby Pierce, Hailey Miller and Anna Sullivan all played extremely well.

Hanover 52, Derryfield 20

Highlights: Senior night honored six players — Sydney McLaughlin, Nina Marshall, Erin Kirkpatrick, Bella Hunt, Elena Mierke, Rhea Veerareddy. Hanover’s stingy defense limited Derryfield scoreless for approximately 12 minutes in the middle of the game and 20 points total.

BFA-Fairfax 49, Oxbow 44

Key players: BFA-Fairfax — Ryan Sheehan (12 points), Ryan Merhl (10 points), Sylas Meunier (nine points), Shayne Meunier (eight points); Oxbow — Reece Isley (13 points, five steals), Matthew Corti (nine points), Kobin Ellsworth (eight points)

Highlights: Both teams started slow offensively, with BFA-Fairfax leading 22-13 at the half. Oxbow scored 20 points in the third quarter, with BFA scoring 19. Oxbow outscored BFA in the fourth quarter 11-8, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.

Highlights: VPA Division III-leading Thetford shot a high percentage from the field in a win over the D-II Raiders.

Woodstock 63, Twin Valley 46

Key players: Woodstock — Elvis Lavallee (20 points), Ezra Lockhart (17 points), Keller Pauly (12 points); Twin Valley — Brayden Brown (24 points), Noah Dornburg (11 points)

Highlights: The Wasps led 29-21 at halftime and methodically pulled away in the second half as they clamped down on defense. Lockhart had a great game on the boards, and Twin Valley did not have an answer for him on either end of the court.

Highlights: George did his job in net, keeping Lebanon in the game. Keegan Dannehy scored a nice goal from the point on a pass from Nate Dube.
